Committees and Task Forces

The Burlington Chamber of Commerce’s programs, services, and offerings are powered by Chamber staff and the wonderful work of our volunteer committees and task forces. There are many benefits to becoming involved as a volunteer at the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. It is a great way to get involved with the Burlington community, meet business leaders, and hone your leadership skills. If becoming a member of the Board of Directors interests you, knowledge of chamber volunteer committee and task force work is a great asset to have.

All committees are guided by the organization’s Strategic Plan which seeks to advocate for business, build the Chamber brand, strengthen the value of membership, and build a more effective organization.

As we move forward, we ask that you complete the below application to participate in these committees and task forces. We encourage current and past volunteers to re-apply. Please use the link below to complete your application.

If you are applying today, we thank you for indicating your interest in joining one of our Committees or Task Forces. Please note that should a position open up on the one you have expressed interest in, someone from the Chamber will reach out to you. Again, thank you for your interest.

Event Ambassador

If you are interested in increasing your social circle within the Chamber Network, and are an enthusiastic individual, the Event Ambassador program might be for you.

The mandate of this program is to attend events on a volunteer basis, when requested by Chamber staff, to provide extra support to staff for various functions.

Tasks can include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting staff with greeting and registering attendees

• Escorting attendees to their assigned tables

• Assisting with prize draws

• Networking and providing special support to event guests, with a special focus placed upon new or potential members

New Member recruitment

Businesses that work together make for a stronger business community so recruiting new members is so important.

This Task Force meets periodically to discuss effective ways to grow the chamber membership community, and utilizing the power of referrals, current members invite their business network to experience the benefits of being a Chamber member.

Event Support and Review

This Task Force meets twice per year (typically in the spring and fall) and reviews the Sponsorship Package and the upcoming scheduled events. Input is always appreciated by the Task Force how to keep events fresh, current and timely.
