PAST CHAIR'S GOLF TOURNAMENT
The
2008 Past Chair's Golf Tournament is being played on June 19 at the very
popular (and golfer friendly) Carlisle Golf & Country Club. Last
year's tournament was so popular that we had to open an extra nine
holes to accommodate all the extra golfers -- and the tournament was
still finished in record time! The Chamber tournament is a great
day of networking that includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner and
prizes. You can enter as a foursome or as an individual and, best
of all, you don't have to be a golfer to have a great time.

The
2007 Chamber of Commerce Past Chair's Golf Tournament was a sold out
success and was the largest in Burlington Chamber history. Demand
was so high this year that we opened an extra nine holes to accommodate
the extra golfers. The tournament was played on June 21 at the
Carlisle Golf & Country Club. This course presents a challenge
for experienced golfers but is forgiving for novices. The scramble
format ensured all golfers had fun and contributed to their team
score. All golfers received a great registration gift, lunch,
dinner, cart and a fun round of golf. The on-course trivia
contest, hosted by Past Chair John Doyle and Golf Task Force Chair Lynn
Beechey, proved to be a very popular part of the day. There were
several specialty holes which yielded prizes to the most skilled golfers
and the beat-the-pro contest netted $608 to the Chamber's Business
Student Scholarship Endowment Fund. The event was completed in record
time with some golfers taking only four hours to complete their rounds
and final remarks concluded before 8:00 pm. We were especially
pleased to have Chamber Past Presidents and Past Chairs from
five decades in attendance: 1968 - Jim Parker, 1977 - Jim
Bridle, 1985 - Jamie Edwards, 1994 - Jim
Barr, 1996 - Stan Lang, 2004 - Penny MacKenzie,
