Historically,
all six Burlington business organizations - the Chamber of Commerce, Aldershot BIA, Burlington Economic
Development Corporation, Tourism Burlington, Burlington Downtown and
the City of Burlington - worked independently to better this
community. Recognizing the strong link between business and lifestyle,
the creation of Team Burlington represents a strong and unified
approach to the economic and community development aspects of the city. Team Burlington enhances each
organization's ability to pursue their individual objectives and at the
same time provides a more seamless approach to improving business and
lifestyle in Burlington. We share a common
office and a common idea: to make doing business in Burlington
easier and more productive.

BURLINGTON BUSINESS SUMMIT
On October 23, 2009, Team Burlington hosted the 2009 Burlington Business
Summit. The event brought together business leaders from across the
city in a variety of sectors to talk about recent successes and to
formulate opportunities. Modeled after the MoneySense magazine
rankings of the best cities in Canada (Burlington ranked #4 in 2009), the
event featured presentations from Statistics Canada, the Martin
Prosperity Institute, MoneySense magazine and the City of Burlington.
Following the presentations the attendees worked in breakout groups to
address opportunities in areas of Prosperity, Environment, Housing,
Transportation, Education, Safety, Health, Arts & Culture, and Sports &
Recreation. Outcomes of the breakout sessions will be available on the
City of Burlington website.
