MandateTo monitor, examine and develop positions on issues pertaining to health and well-being.  This committee works with all levels of government to ensure that the Chamber acts as an effective advocate for local businesses.

Mandate:  To develop and co-ordinate programs to orient and integrate new members, enhance overall membership retention, and ensure customer satisfaction.  Essentially this committee is charged with recruiting and retaining members.

Mandate:  To develop and co-ordinate tools to market the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and to improve communications with current and prospective members. This committee works on the image of the Chamber, as well as membership recruitment and communication.

Business Awards Task Force

Mandate:  To recognize business excellence in Burlington through an annual, high profile Awards Gala. The Gala, a black-tie invited dinner, has been a sell-out virtually every year.

Golf Tournament Task Force

Mandate:  To plan the annual Past President's golf tournament held every year in June.  Plans for next year's golf tournament are already underway.  The 2007 tournament is booked for June 21 at the Carlisle Golf & Country Club.

Executive Roundtables

CFO Roundtable,  Chair: Ben Nielsen, Thomson-Gordon Limited

Operations Roundtable,  Chair: Jeremy Okolisan, Byrne Engineering Inc.

 

Mandate:  To provide a peer-to-peer resource group for Burlington manufacturing firms. They offer an opportunity for financial and operating executives to share experiences and information.  The two Roundtables operate on alternating monthly schedules: one group consists of CFOs and the other of Operations Executives.
